Character

"Have you walked with Christ?"

Character Counts

For Faith Christian School, it is the development of a child's character that stands at the center of our educational aims.  Godly character begins with a child coming to know Jesus Christ personally and then submitting to His commands to reflect attributes such as discipline, love, patience, wisdom, and forgiveness. Academic, athletic, and creative excellence are natural by-products of children who have learned to develop characteristics that Jesus Christ expressed. Therefore, we set high standards for students, both in and out of the classroom.

Developing Character

Character development is taught in a variety of contexts:

- Teachers make it a part of their daily interactions with students to focus on being like Christ.
- Weekly chapels, daily devotions, and a Spiritual Enrichment Week are used to learn about God’s nature, His hope
for His people, and His desires for our lives.
- Student discipline is centered in God's Word and restoration is pursued according to God's grace.

Promoting Godliness

The faculty is committed to a Godly walk and takes the time to pray with students. Faculty members communicate regularly with the parents to let them know how their son or daughter is growing. Students experiencing difficulty have peers and teachers that will care for them and stand by them. The school also honors students that reflect Christ-like character.

- K through 6th grade students each receive a character award at the annual Spring Spotlight.
- Junior and Senior High Honors Night rewards diligent efforts, unselfish leadership and service, and Christian testimony as
   well as academic achievement.
