Creating Beauty
God created each of us in His image. As His image bearers, we have been
given creative gifts that can glorify Him and can lead others to know Him
more. Our culture is in dire need of people that know how to create truly
beautiful messages and also know how to use discernment as they enjoy the
various forms of art.
A Growing Program
Students have the opportunity at Faith to experience various forms of
creative expression.
Music: Students begin early
with choral music in the elementary grades. Weekly music classes and
frequent performances teach students how to sing and conduct themselves in
public. Beginning in fourth grade, students have the opportunity to
sign up for private music lessons in brass, woodwinds, or percussion
instruments.
Senior high students have the opportunity to participate in choir, band, or
private music lessons. Faith also has a worship team. Students lead the
chapel program in worship songs using their voices and instruments. Many of
our students participate in an annual solo/ensemble contest, as well as the
ACSI Music Festival.
Art: The art program at Faith is
vibrant and growing. Elementary students participate in art once a week.
The students are exposed to the works of the masters throughout history and
try their own hand at the master's style.
All junior high students take a one-semester art class and senior high
students may take an art or photography elective several times each week.
These classes provide instruction in a variety of media. The annual Faith
Arts Festival is an opportunity for students to display and share their art
and photography with parents and visitors.
Speech: Public speaking is taught, beginning
with the elementary student through in-house and ACSI speech meets. Students
have the opportunity to express themselves through creative writing
beginning in first grade. Junior high students practice various forms of
writing and senior high students share their talents through periodic
publications.
Drama: Faith students have the opportunity
to participate in an annual drama or musical. Recent performances
include Oklahoma, The Sound of Music, and Arsenic and Old Lace.
The Fine Arts program at Faith continues to grow, and the students have
responded well and display enormous talent and joy. Volunteers, teachers,
and the administration have made a commitment to maintain a program that
teaches students how to reflect God's glory to a dark world.
