Admissions Criteria and Procedures

General Admissions Standards: Faith Christian School is committed to a Biblical philosophy of education which integrates Christian principles and scriptural truths with the academic and social experiences of every student. Faith Christian School was founded to work in concert with families by teaching the same Christian truths as the children receive at home and at church. Our policy on admissions reflects this philosophy. We ask that each parent(s) or legal guardian support the school’s Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, Philosophy of Education, and Student Policies. The parents or legal guardian should also be regular attenders at a Bible believing church..

We endeavor to enroll students who will exhibit Biblical values of love for others as well as a general desire to learn. Students seeking admission are evaluated on the basis of their report cards, references, admission questionnaires (junior/senior high), interviews and overall potential to perform satisfactorily at Faith.

Students will be required to take a placement test and parents are asked to provide copies of the student’s most recent standardized test scores. Senior high applicants will be asked to provide a letter of recommendation from their current math and language teachers regarding the student’s study habits, attitude, conduct, and mastery of the subject.

Applicants that have been home schooled must have a current transcript as well as a copy of the results of standardized testing done within the last fifteen months.

Students who seek admission directly following suspension, expulsion or behavior problems from another school will not be permitted to apply until they have shown visible evidence of a heart and behavioral change and provide letters of support from others in the community, such as youth pastor, employer, and/or counselor. In order to graduate from Faith Christian School, a student should have been enrolled for at least two years of high school at Faith, including his or her senior year.

Kindergarten Admissions: The child must be five years of age on or before September 1 to be eligible for admittance in August that year. All students entering kindergarten will be screened to ascertain their readiness for the kindergarten program.

Enrollment Status: Students entering Faith are placed on a one semester probationary status in order to ensure appropriate transition and placement into the school. A weekly evaluation will be provided for all new junior and senior high students. If a conference is deemed necessary after the student has been enrolled for two to four weeks, the administration will contact the parents. If the student is not able to comply with behavioral standards or reveals a serious negative attitude, the school will ask the parents to withdraw the child.

Parents understand that Faith Christian School is a choice. Parents may choose to withdraw their student at any time and for any reason. Likewise, FCS reserves the right to make choices about a student’s enrollment or continued enrollment at school.
