The Library is BACK!

We’re thrilled to welcome Mrs. Mimi Book, our new librarian, who’s bringing her expertise and a whole lot of fun to Faith Christian School! With 16 years of teaching experience and a passion for creating an engaging, joyful learning space, Mrs. Book can’t wait to share her love for literature with our students. She’s also a proud FCS grandma and part of a family full of educators—learning is definitely in her roots!

And let’s give a huge shoutout to our superstar volunteer, Porter! Faith Christian School has been blessed by his help since we started in September. You’ve likely seen Porter lending a hand everywhere—assisting in the lunchroom, handling behind-the-scenes tasks like making copies, entering data, and helping with administrative work—all with a big smile and an encouraging word for everyone. He’s a true morale booster and a vital part of our team, especially in the library, where he’s helping to bring Mrs. Book’s vision to life. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Book and thanking Porter for their incredible contributions to FCS!

Nov. 19 – Open Board Meeting

Faith Christian School invites parents to attend our next open board meeting on November 19 at 6 PM in the library. This is a great opportunity to stay informed about how our leadership is working to fulfill our mission of training students as disciples of Jesus Christ for a life of influence. The Board plays a vital role in guiding our school, including:

  • Leading the school toward its mission and goals.
  • Defining the school’s mission, values, and long-term objectives.
  • Monitoring school performance and ensuring accountability.
  • Selecting and evaluating the Head of School.
  • Ensuring financial stability through sound policies and practices.

During this portion of the meeting, you will have a chance to hear from the board individually, who they are, what their role is and why they love to serve on the board. They will also give updates on our strategic plan, the re-accreditation process, Iron Faith, and new initiatives that have been implemented at FCS this year, as well as taking time to address comments from the board survey that was sent out.

We look forward to seeing you there as we work together to make Faith Christian School a model of excellence and faith-based influence!

Chapel Update

Today in Elementary chapel, we explored the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the book of Daniel. When King Nebuchadnezzar commanded everyone in Babylon to worship a nearly 100-foot gold statue, these three friends refused, knowing it was wrong to bow to other gods—even when faced with being thrown into a fiery furnace. Despite the danger, they chose to follow God’s commands.

Read the full story in Daniel 3, or watch “The Fiery Furnace” on The Biggest Story YouTube channel for more!

Next week in Elementary chapel, we’ll learn the story of “The Writing on the Wall” from the book of Daniel. This story is about King Belshazzar, grandson of Nebuchadnezzar. Although Nebuchadnezzar eventually learned humility before God, Belshazzar did not. During a grand feast, a mysterious hand appeared, writing a message on the wall. None of his wise men could interpret it, but the queen suggested calling Daniel. Daniel revealed that the message meant Belshazzar’s days as king were over because he had not humbled himself before God. That very night, Belshazzar was killed, a reminder that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Important Update: FACTS Portal Changes

We wanted to inform you about some updates happening with the FACTS system. Recently, FACTS has been making upgrades, and we’ve also been working on improvements on our end to enhance your experience.

The financial portal has now been integrated with your Family Portal. This means you no longer need to log into two separate places! If you try to access the financial portal directly, you may see an error. Instead, simply log into your Family Portal. If you’re using a desktop computer, scroll down to the “Financial” section. For those using the FACTS app, just go to “Billing.”

We’re also excited to let you know that we’ll be adding the option for hot lunch ordering soon! Stay tuned as we continue to make things easier and more accessible for you.

Experiencing Errors? If you are encountering more errors than usual, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies. Afterward, log out of the system, then log back in. This often resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve your experience with the FACTS portal.

Maintenance Wish List

Now that we have a full-time Facilities Director in place, we’re excited to get our maintenance shop fully up and running. To keep our tools organized and ready for use, we’re in need of a functional tool chest. If you have one you’re willing to donate or are looking to part with, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support. Your generosity will help us keep our school in top shape! Please contact the school office if you can help. Thank you!

Drop-off & Pick-Up Traffic Flow

To ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic in our parking lot, we ask that all parents and students follow the designated traffic pattern. Please refer to the provided graphic for visual guidance.

  • Lane Designation: As you enter the parking lot, use Lane #1 for entry. Lanes #2 and #3 are exit lanes only; Lane #2 is for left turns, and Lane #3 is for right turns when leaving.
  • Drop-Off & Pick-Up Lane: Enter in Lane #1 and follow the yellow arrows. Use the inside lane, Lane #4 (indicated by white arrows), for drop-off and pick-up. Staff will be present to assist with door openings and ensure students exit vehicles safely. Once your drop-off or pick-up is complete, continue through Lane #4 to the end of the parking lot, then make a left turn to exit.
  • Parking and Crosswalks: If you need to park, follow the yellow arrows in the left lane and proceed to an available space. Please use the designated crosswalks for safe passage across the lot.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and efficient environment for our school community!
