As the temperatures have dropped, it’s clear that winter is just around the corner. With snow in the forecast, now is the perfect time to check your child’s snow gear to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming season. Here’s a helpful checklist of what your child may need for recess and outdoor activities:
- Snow pants
- Boots
- Coat
- Hat
- Gloves/Mittens
Important Reminders:
- Elementary recess will be held outdoors unless the temperature, including windchill, is below ten degrees at the time of recess.
- To keep classroom carpets dry, snow boots may not be worn as indoor shoes. Please send a pair of regular shoes for your child to change into.
- Waterproof gloves are highly recommended.
- Labeling all winter gear is strongly encouraged to prevent items from being lost.
For families with younger children, consider practicing putting on winter gear in the order listed above to make snowy mornings run smoothly.
Dress Code Reminder
Sweatpants and leggings are not allowed. Please review Section 9.2 of the Student Handbook (page 40) for more details.
Let’s work together to keep everyone warm and ready for a fun and safe winter season!
