Rooted in Christ, Growing Through Change

May is a full and vibrant season at Faith Christian School. With so many exciting events and opportunities, it’s easy for students—and all of us—to move quickly from one thing to the next. That’s why we are intentional about creating space for our students to pause, reflect, and process the transitions that come with the end of the school year.

For our secondary students, weekly devotionals and chapel continue to center us in God’s Word. But for our 8th and 12th graders, we go even deeper. Earlier this month, our 8th Grade class traveled to Baraboo for a retreat at Expeditions Unlimited. With the guidance of dedicated staff chaperones, students spent time at Devil’s Lake State Park canoeing, hiking, worshiping, listening, and praying. It was a meaningful time to recognize God’s faithfulness in their lives as they prepare to enter high school.

This week, our Seniors are away on a capstone trip in northern Arizona, hosted at Gloryview Ranch. While there, they’ll see the Grand Canyon, Slide Rock State Park, and an extinct volcano. They’ll cook meals together, worship under the stars, ride horses, and spend time in community. More than just an adventure, this trip is designed to help students reflect on God’s providence—both in His creation and in their own stories. The ranch staff do a phenomenal job helping our seniors see God’s hand through past seasons so they can move forward with trust and confidence in His plans.

We are so grateful for the way God is working in and through our students. Whether it’s through encouraging each other in difficult moments, serving others with compassion, or demonstrating Christ’s love on the field or court, we are blessed to witness the fruit that grows from lives rooted in Jesus.

2nd semester exams are on Thursday and Friday, May 29th and 30th. The schedule is similar to the first semester, with a few adjustments to allow extra time within a class period for the exam. The daily schedule is below, along with a few clarifying points. Please note the following details:
  • Adjusted Dismissal Time: Students will finish scheduled exams at 2:40 PM.
    • Students may leave at this time if their exams are completed for the day and all missing work is turned in.
  • Morning Arrival: If students do not have an exam scheduled first thing in the morning, they may arrive later than 8:00 but in time for their first scheduled exam.
  • Students are not permitted to leave and come back once they are at school for exams (i.e., if they have an open period, they should plan on staying on campus to study, read, or otherwise work quietly)

Additional Instructional Days For Students In Grades 7–11

As a reminder, Monday, June 2, and Tuesday, June 3 have been added as instructional days for students in grades 7–11 to make up for the snow days earlier this year. We’re excited to close out the year with two purposeful days focused on service and community-building.

Schedule for June 2 & 3:

Monday, June 2 – Faith in Action: On-Campus Service Day

  • School Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: Faith Christian School Campus
  • Details: Students will serve our school community through a variety of hands-on projects. This is a great opportunity to finish the year strong by supporting teachers, helping with small maintenance tasks, and contributing to campus projects.

Tuesday, June 3 – Lake Walk Experience (Shortened Day)

  • Drop-off Time: 8:30 AM
  • Pick-up Time: 1:30 PM
  • Locations: Specific drop-off and pick-up locations will be shared closer to the date. We are planning a scenic walk around Lake Geneva, with a route designed to be both enjoyable and safe.
  • What to Bring: A sack lunch, water bottle, comfortable shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Please let us know by May 23 whether your student(s) will be attending these two school days. While these are regular school days, we understand some families may have prior commitments. If your student will not be attending, simply email Attendance to let us know. This helps us plan transportation, lunch, and supervision accordingly. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
